Lynn was appointed to the role of President and CEO of Manitoulin Health Centre (MHC) in October 2018.
She has close to 37 years of leadership experience. After a rewarding career serving Canada as a military officer, she focused her attention to the business world where she earned her Chartered Accountant designation and later was awarded a Masters of Business Administration with Distinction, specializing in Leadership.
Lynn’s career includes various progressive leadership roles within both the private and public sector. She has served Manitoulin Health Centre for close to 14 years. Most recently as Vice President Corporate Support Services and Chief Financial Officer where she led some of MHC’s most significant projects.
Lynn and her family feel blessed to live on Manitoulin Island and especially enjoy their summers on the North Channel aboard Joie de Vivre.
- Vice President Clinical Services & Chief Nursing Officer Mariana Markovic
Mariana joined the senior leadership team at Manitoulin Health Centre (MHC) as the Vice President Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Officer in July of 2018.
She is a health care leader with over 33 years of experience serving in hospitals and other healthcare organizations across Ontario. Mariana also has experience working with the First Nation Community on the James Bay Coast. She has over 10 years of combined clinical and formal teaching experience as an associate professor, as well as, 12 years as a provincial professional practice specialist for the Ontario Nurses Association.
Mariana is a lifelong learner whose professional career began with a Diploma in Nursing from Mohawk College, an undergraduate degree in Nursing from McMaster University, a Master in Nursing and a Master in Health Sciences Administration from University of Toronto. She holds a Diploma in Management from Ontario Hospital Association, a Diploma in Industrial Relations from Queen’s University, and is a Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Leaders.
As a newcomer to Manitoulin Island, Mariana resides in Little Current where she fuels her early childhood appreciation for diverse culture, values, and belief. She enjoys hiking the trails on Manitoulin.
- Vice President Corporate Support Services & Chief Financial Officer Tim Vine
Vice President Corporate Support Services & Chief Financial Officer
Tim joined the Manitoulin Health Centre team in September 2018 and is serving as its Vice President Corporate Support Services and Chief Financial Officer.
He has held progressive leadership roles directing financial reporting, analysis, and research for highly diversified public and private sector organizations. He is a strong finance professional with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science, both from The University of Western Ontario. Tim is currently undertaking his Master of Business Administration and Certified Professional Accountant designation.
After living and working throughout Ontario, Tim and his wife are very excited to have finally arrived in Northern Ontario and specifically, Manitoulin Island. They live in Little Current and enjoy being active within the community.
Nicole St. Georges

Director of Human Resources
Nicole St. Georges joined the Manitoulin Health Centre team in September 2017. She is proud of her Algonquin First Nation heritage and was attracted by Manitoulin’s cultural diversity.
She is a bilingual Human Resources (HR) Professional with over fifteen years of human resources and labour relations experience in multi-union and non-union, highly diversified, public and private sector organizations. She has solid experience in building high-performing teams focusing on leadership development.
Nicole has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Laurentian University and is currently completing her Master of Business Administration with the University of Athabasca. She earned her Canadian Human Resources Leadership (CHRL) designation in 2010.
In her spare time, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband of 22 years, her two children and family pets. She lives life to its fullest and enjoys the serenity of her home on the lake.
- Director of Clinical Innovations & Partnerships Paula Fields
Director of Clinical Innovations & Partnerships
Paula Fields has deep roots and a long history serving in various health care roles on Manitoulin Island.
She returned to Manitoulin Health Center (MHC), 13 years ago, to serve as the Occupational Health and Infection Control Nurse then transitioned to a Nurse Management role. In 2017, Paula accepted the position of Director of Clinical Innovation and Partnerships, a senior management role.
She takes great pride in her contribution to the quality improvement work and shared collaborations with Partners across the Manitoulin region. She especially enjoys engaging with Indigenous Partners in the provision of culturally safe care at MHC.
Paula holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Laurentian University and was recently awarded her Master of Health Management with McMaster University. She also earned her certificate of Health Management with the Ontario Hospital Association.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children on their Manitoulin waterfront property.
